Dr. Yong-cheon Song new International President of the Family Federation
In a communiqué from the International Headquarters of the Family Federation 20th May 2023, it was announced that South Korean Dr. Yong-cheon Song, has been appointed as new International President of the Family Federation. He replaces Dr. Young-ho Yun, who held the position of Director General of the Family Federation’s International headquarters.
Dr. Song will be known to many Europeans as he served as Continental Director of the movement in Europe from 2003 to 2013.
Adding to his international experience, before 2003 he worked many years as leader of the Oceania region, based in Australia. In 2013 he was appointed to lead the Japanese movement, which in many ways has been one of the most successful countries when it comes to spreading the word of Father and Mother Moon.
He held that position until January 2018, when he took over the leadership of the Sunhak Global Education Foundation in South Korea, a group consisting of several educational institutions, including Sun Moon University in Asan, a city south of Seoul.
In the same bulletin from International Headquarters, Demian Dunkley was appointed Regional Chair and National President of the Family Federation of the USA. He replaces Dr. Cheong-shik Yong as Regional Chair and Naokimi Ushiroda as National President.
Dr. Song took over as new International President from 9th May 2023.
