Abundance of Orwellian anti-family indoctrination rejecting God and reason
by David Eaton.
In 2015 James Kalb wrote an arresting essay in the religious journal First Things regarding the transgender phenomenon and its socio-cultural implications. Kalb began his article by citing a revised New York City Health Department form for parents requesting birth certificates. The revised form asks the “woman giving birth” whether she is female or male.
As Kalb noted there is a certain absurdity in the question and asked, “But why do absurdities of this sort keep popping up? And why do most people fall in line, pretending – at least in public – that they are perfectly sensible? The natural reaction is to roll our eyes: These things cannot be serious, and they will go away if we ignore them. But they do not go away, and the absurdities become more common, extreme, and compulsory.”
In the eight years since Kalb’s essay was published, the advocacy for gender fluidity in the name of equity and rights has indeed become “more common, extreme and compulsory.” Egalitarian concerns aside, we must ask: Is modern society on the road to a dystopian reality that is completely bereft of reason? Most of us would reluctantly say yes.

In our “post-truth” era there is an abundance of Orwellian indoctrination taking place resulting in the abnegation of truth and reason. Confucius warned long ago that when words lose their meaning, it’s only a matter of time before there is confusion and ruin everywhere. He stated:
“If names be not correct, language is not in accordance with the truth of things. If language be not in accordance with the truth of things, affairs cannot be carried on to success. When affairs cannot be carried out with success, proprieties and music do not flourish.”
If a society continually changes common meanings of words that historically have not been offensive (man, woman, e.g.), into words that give offense, in order to make certain ideas and concepts unacceptable and/or unquestionable, we shouldn’t be surprised to see confusion and ruin at every turn. By rejecting reason we begin to create a culture in which the worst types of human behavior are normalized – and not only in matters of sexual behavior. Becoming inured to such behavior jeopardizes the basic moral fabric of society.
The ongoing debates over “gender fluidity” and “gender dysphoria” have taken on an especially duplicitous, coarse and militant tone. To merely cite biology as a reason to question gender identity is now perceived as being an expression of intolerance or bigotry. In many countries, laws are being drafted to ostensibly protect the rights of individuals who identify as a gender other than their biological gender, but this can lead to government-mandated acceptance of such.

In his book, Takedown: From Communists to Progressives, How the Left Has Sabotaged Family and Marriage, Paul Kengor chronicles the calculated assault on traditional marriage and family as a way to make “the state” the primary arbiter of values and virtues in every aspect of society. Kengor notes that sexual rebellion has long been a modality of Marxists and their far-left acolytes in their pursuit of power and control.

It was the neo-Marxist philosopher, Wilhelm Reich, who coined the term “sexual liberation”. Going back to the early twentieth century, Italian Marxist Antonio Gramsci asserted: “Socialism is precisely the religion that must overwhelm Christianity. In the new order, Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media by transforming the consciousness of society.”

Gramsci’s ideas spawned what has been termed “the long march through the institutions”, a strategy that fellow Marxists, Mao Tsetung and Rudi Dutschke fully embraced. Academia, the media and the arts have been breeding grounds for the indoctrination and implementation of Gramsci’s anti-Christian views. Moreover, the Black Lives Matter movement, whose founders have Marxist leanings, has also advocated for the destruction of traditional family values. In 2020, the BLM posted their family beliefs and goals on their website, explicitly stating that the disruption of “the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure”, and “freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking” was a significant aspect of BLM’s activism.
Because religious doctrines that emphasize traditional and heteronormative family structure (Divine Principle, e.g.) are viewed as hedges against trans-activism, it’s not surprising that churches and “believers” are being characterized as threats to the rights of those who choose alternative sexual orientations. But religious rights and the right of free speech must also be protected in any society in which individual liberties are considered sacrosanct. The current debate is not about liberal views vs. conservative views, or left vs. right, but rather it’s a God vs. No God proposition.
