God’s parenthood and our spiritual maturity – the key to fulfilling God’s vision

Part 3 of message from Rev. Demian Dunkley, president of the Family Federation of North America, transcribed from a video that is part of a series of lectures titled “Discourse on True Mother‘s Revelations”, posted on the education site of the Family Federation of the USA February 2025

As a spiritual being, God‘s plan was to give birth to a son and a daughter – both of them physical and spiritual. They would follow God‘s heart and commandment, to grow to a level of God‘s own divine character by becoming a true son, by becoming a true daughter, resembling God‘s nature.
And this takes time. It takes time and would require that they keep God‘s commandment during that time.
God has some responsibility to create an environment to care for and protect his beautiful children. But we – let’s say the first human beings –would have responsibility to also protect themselves, namely protect their spirit, which they are housing, which they are cloaking within their physical being.
God would take care of the environment to make sure they had food, water, sunlight, air, rest, protection from the elements. That’s God‘s job, to create the environment where they would be able to be physically safe.
But they – the first humans – were responsible to protect their godly spirit that also starts off just as a burgeoning little spirit and needs time to grow and mature.
We can call this a growing period, right? A growing period.
And during that growing period, we simply need to make godly choices, right? We need to do what God really guides us to do, which isn’t difficult if we remain in relationship with God. If God‘s up there, then God‘s looking out for us too.
The act of God‘s first son and daughter reaching the status of true children would then grant God the position of becoming a Parent. Do you understand?

God would become a Heavenly Parent at that point. God would be able to say, “This is my son and daughter in whom I am well pleased.”
Isn’t that so? God already has a lot that He’s created if He’s created the universe, the galaxies, the Sun, the various planets and planet Earth with its incredible environment that – of everything we studied – seems uniquely attuned and prepared to be an environment for human beings.
And not just human beings, right? The birds of the air, the fish of the sea – everything is beautiful. The mountains – everything is such an incredible world we live in.
And God is embedded in all of it. The love of God, the energy of God, the principles of God‘s nature and characteristics are not embedded, but are the innate essence of everything that exists, right?
And on that planet, God would give birth to the highest form of – the highest version of – his essence: the man and the woman, the son, the daughter, right?
In God‘s image, He created them such that when they could mature not only physically but also spiritually, at that point they would come to fully resemble God‘s male and female characteristics.
At that point, God would be able to say,
“This is my son, and this is my daughter in whom I am well pleased.”

Such a being that would say such a thing is a Parent. In other words, it is the children that make the Parent. You could say it is the children that sign the certificate of the Parent.
This is important and I want to really continue to hit this point, that we have had somewhat of an ignorant or limited understanding of God as all-powerful, all-amazing, all-been-there-done-that perfect being that has already seen everything, done everything, and knows everything. He has nothing more to experience, nothing more to learn, nothing more to do, nothing more to reveal. That’s not true!
If that was our Creator, if that was our Parent’s character, then that would be our character. Do you want to be a person that just gets to some level of perfection, where it’s all done? And you live for eternity, and there’s nothing more to experience that’s new, nothing more to learn that’s new, nothing more to do, that you can accomplish, that you can say, “I did this!” That’s boring as heck.
God wants to be a part of an ever evolving, developing expression of God‘s own love and essence and principles. Because it’s exciting.
