Thousands Wed in Event Led by “Holy Mother Han”

Family Federation hosts massive international Blessing ceremony in South Korea with thousands wed – 5,000 couples

Hak Ja Han (82), also known as “Holy Mother Han” and “True Mother”, officiated 12^th April at a large international wedding ceremony where according to the organizers – the Family Federation – 5,000 couples took part. The spectacular event was held in Cheongshim Peace World Center, a large indoor arena, in Gapyeong, located northeast of the South Korean capital Seoul.

The event took place on Hak Ja Han’s own 65^th wedding anniversary – according to the Oriental lunar calendar (nongnyeok / 음력), which is still used for anniversaries and milestone birthdays.

Mother Han entered the stage through two lines of “attendants” – couples who had their marriage blessed by her between 2013 and 2024. She began what is called a “Marriage Blessing ceremony” by sprinkling holy water on 13 representative couples in two lines on stage. At the same time, assistants sprinkled holy water on all the couples below the stage and at blessing venues worldwide.

In the next part of the ceremony, Mother Han read the marriage vow, asking the many couples to affirm it by shouting a loud yes. They all promised to do their very best to accomplish our Heavenly Parent’s ideal of creation by becoming an eternal husband and wife, inherit the tradition established by the True Parents, and build harmonious families that will strive to realize a Kingdom of Heaven not only here on the earth, but as well in the world that awaits us when we one day pass on.

Then followed the exchange of marriage blessing rings. First, the groom placed the ring on the bride’s finger. Next, the bride placed the other ring on the groom’s finger. The ring symbolizes eternal love between husband and wife.

The officiator now offered the blessing proclamation to “announce the blessing before heaven and earth”. Mother Han read with a loud voice,

“I hereby proclaim that the virtuous men and women participating in this ‘cosmic’ blessing ceremony officiated by the ‘True Parents of heaven, earth, and humankind’ [See editor’s note below] have been joined in holy matrimony before heaven and earth through the grace of Heavenly Parent (God) and the ‘True Parents of heaven, earth and humankind’.” (from simultaneous translatuion)

Rev. Guk Hwangbo, the master of ceremony stated that with this, the marriage blessing for all the young couples and “previously married couples” participating in the event with the title “2025 Hyojeong Cosmic Blessing Ceremony Officiated by the True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind” [See editor’s note below] has been proclaimed throughout “all of heaven and earth”.

The ceremony continued with Mother Han offering her benediction prayer for the blessed brides and grooms. According to the simultaneous translation, she said,

“Dear Creator, Heavenly Parent, the Owner of the universe, your dream and ideal of creation have been fulfilled. How long you have waited to embrace these your children!

The 5,000 couples who receive the blessing today, virtuous men and women, this moment our Heavenly Parent is coming down substantially to each and every one of the couples, fulfilling his/her long-held dream. The Heavenly Parent has been waiting to embrace and love true children. This is the day the dream is accomplished.

Today, all the families receive blessing. After 6,000 years, Heavenly Parent is giving the blessing directly. It is truly a miraculous moment. […]”

Representative couples then presented flowers and gifts to Mother Han, the officiator. The brides and grooms then offered their greetings, first in gratitude to Holy Mother Han by offering a bow. Then, they bowed to everyone in the audience.

The ceremony was followed by entertainment and preceded by congratulatory speeches.
